Fresh Fish & a Seafood Restaurant Near Tenby

The “Naked Fish” board at The Orangery, our 2 AA Rosette restaurant at Trefloyne Manor, is written around whatever's been landed on the quays at Tenby, Saundersfoot, Milford and Swansea. It makes us something of a seafood restaurant five minutes from Tenby: simply pan-fried, finished with lemon and samphire butter, and served the way the best fish deserves - without a disguise.

The Naked Fish board — today's catch, nothing hidden

“Naked” means exactly that: the finest fresh fish and shellfish, cooked simply so the fish does the talking. Choose your catch from the day's board, then how you'd like it; with broccoli, roasted vine tomatoes and your pick of skinny fries, chunky chips or Pembrokeshire new potatoes. The board changes with the daily landings, please call us on 01834 842165 and we'll happily read you today's.

Caldey Island lobster, off Richard's boat

When Richard's boat has been out around Caldey Island, there is usually fresh lobster on the board - landed on the quay at Tenby Harbour and in the kitchen the same day. It's the shortest supply chain in Pembrokeshire: the island you can see from Tenby's beaches, one fisherman, and a five-minute drive.

Alongside it, board regulars include Tenby Sea Bass, Dover sole, plaice, lemon sole, mackerel, crab and bream.  When in season, we are delighted to offer West Wales' finest Coracle caught Sewin (PGI) (usually between May - July).

Because the board follows the boat rather than a fixed menu, we serve what has been caught that day. It means the menu is constantly changing and nothing travels further than it needs to.

What makes the best seafood restaurant in Tenby?

The distance the fish travels and the confidence to leave it alone. Ours is landed on local quays — Tenby Harbour among them — often cooked the same day and served without heavy sauces to hide behind; that's the whole idea of the Naked Fish board. Add two AA Rosettes in the kitchen and a dining room looking over the Ritec Valley, and we will happily let you judge the best seafood in Tenby question, and whether we are among the best fish restaurants near Tenby, over a plate of it.

Fish & seafood questions, answered

How do I know what fish is on today?

The board changes with the landings, so the surest way is to call 01834 842165 and ask. Our team will read you today's catch. Regulars include cod, sea bass and, when the boat's been out and it’s in season, Caldey lobster.

Do you always have Caldey Island lobster?

Not always. Our lobster comes fresh off Richard's boat from around Caldey Island, rather than from a freezer, so it's on the board when it's been caught.

Where does your fish come from?

Our fresh fish is landed on the quays at Tenby, Saundersfoot, Milford Haven and Swansea, with lobster from the waters around Caldey Island. It is Pembrokeshire seafood in the most literal sense: local boats, short journeys, cooked simply.

Can you cater for allergies?

Yes, please tell us about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking or ordering and the kitchen will do its utmost to accommodate you. There are plenty of non-fish dishes across the menu too, so mixed tables are easy.

Do children eat fish here?

Of course! The Trefloyne Tots menu (£7.50) includes mini goujons of fresh fish in a panko crust, which is the day's real fish, child sized.

Is there parking, and how far are you from Tenby?

Free parking at the manor, and we're in Penally which is about five minutes' drive (two miles) from Tenby town centre, at Trefloyne Lane, SA70 7RG.
